Benny Rex Billings

Mr. Benny Rex Billings, age 76 of Traphill passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Woltz Hospice Home. 

Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Monday, March 13, 2023 at Stoney Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Joel Blevins and Rev. Rick Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM prior to the service at the church. 

Benny was born January 30, 1947, in Surry County to Dewey and Myrtle Pruitt Billings. He retired as a Well Driller after many years from Newman Brothers Well Drilling. Benny served as a Deacon for 49 years at Stoney Ridge Baptist Church. He loved his family and working on his cattle farm.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Linda Carol Cheek Billings, two sisters; Arkie Crabb, Dorothy Holcomb, three brothers; Hurley Billings, Elmer Billings, and Everette “Buck” Billings.

He is survived by a son; Benjamin Billings and wife Kayla of Traphill, two grandchildren; Shaylen Billings, Brayden Billings, two sisters; Rheo McBride of Winston-Salem and Ella Byrd of Lexington.
