Mr. Barney Burchette, age 90, of Hays passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026, at his home. 

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Oak Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Wiles officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 11:45 until 12:45 PM prior to the service at the church.   

Barney was born on February 18, 1936, in Wilkes County to Ila Claire Burchette.   

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife; Media Blevins Burchette; a daughter; Patty Burchette Holbrook, a son: Linnie Ray Burchette, a sister; Mary Lee Felts, three brothers; Gilbert Burchette, John Burchette and M.L. Burchette. 

He is survived by a daughter; Robin Burchette Pearson (Jack) of Boomer; a son; Danny Burchette (Mary Ann) of North Wilkesboro, grandchildren; Ashley Pearson Davis (Anthony), Carmen Pearson McDaniels (Tommy), Jamie Daniel Burchette, Larry Wayne Holbrook, Gary Junior Holbrok, great grandchildren; Cayleigh Grace Davis, Kaiden Jack Davis, Lilly Belle Cranfill (Justin), Elina McDaniels, great-great granddaughter; Madelyn Rose Cranfill and a brother, Thelbert Burchette (Frances) of North Wilkesboro.
