Barbara "Gail" Mabe Shumate

Mrs. Barbara “Gail” Mabe Shumate, age 77 of North Wilkesboro, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2025, at home. 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Gary Benesh officiating.  Burial will be in Mountlawn Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. 

Gail was born on May 9, 1948, in Wilkes County to Roy Estel and Flora Mae Anderson Mabe. She was a member of Hinshaw Baptist Church.  

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband; Harrold Dennis Shumate and a brother; Gary Estel Mabe. 

She is survived by two brothers; Randy Mabe (Becky) of North Wilkesboro and Roy Lee Mabe of North Wilkesboro, a sister-in-law; Louise Mabe, one niece; April Foreman, two nephews; Wayne Mabe and Jason Mabe, four great nieces and two great nephews.
