Mrs. Barbara Ann Bowen Laws, age 76, of Roaring River passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Thanks to Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Jeremy Simpson officiating.  The casket will be placed in the church at 1:30 PM. Burial will be in Thanks to Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Elkin.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday evening at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. 

Barbara was born April 2, 1949, in Mecklenburg County to Johnny William and Edna Cabe Bowen.  She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Barbara loved cardinals, going to church and spending time with her family and friends.  Her grandchildren brought extra joy into her life.  She was a member of Oakdale Church of God. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; James Stewart Laws, a brother; Doug Bowen and a sister; Vergia Nixon. 

She is survived by a daughter; Tanya Denise Harmon-Harrold and fiancé; Robert Norman of Roaring River, a son; David Anthony Bowen of Mt. Holly, three grandchildren; Jessica Marie Harmon, Brandon Lee Harrold, Austin James Bowen, two great grandchildren; Holden and Ayla, a sister; Nancy Gentry and husband Buddy of Mtn. City, TN and a niece; Melissa Gentry. 

Flowers will be accepted.
