Mrs. Audrey Whittington Sidden. 

Mrs. Audrey Whittington Sidden, age 86 of Wilkesboro, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2020 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. 

A celebration of life will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Pastor David Dyer officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. A private committal service will be at Mountlawn Memorial Park.

Mrs. Sidden was born December 16, 1933 in Wilkes County to Henry Claude and Grace Dyer Whittington.  She was a teacher in the Wilkes County School and Nottoway, VA school systems for 35 years. 

Audrey had such a big heart and always made sure those she loved didn’t want for anything. She loved spending time with her family, enjoyed games, and wanted all animals to be cared for. Audrey was spunky with an incredible sense of humor and her laugh lit up a room. There isn’t a person who met Audrey who wouldn’t have a fun story about her. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tyre Abraham Sidden; a daughter, Terrie Sidden, and a sister Claudine Lovette. 

She is survived by a daughter, Tonya Sidden Granger and husband Chris of Winston Salem; a son, Neil Sidden and wife Laura of Denver, NC; two grandchildren, Collin Granger of Charlotte and Kelsey Granger of Winston Salem; two sisters, Bobbie Burke of Wilkesboro, and Midge Adams of Wilkesboro. 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wilkes Humane Society, PO Box 306, North Wilkesboro, NC  28659.
