Ronald Anthony Jones, age 54, of Kernersville, NC passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 06, 2025, at Duke Medical Center, Durham, NC. Born on January 30, 1971, in Wilkes County, to Ronald Junior Jones and Betty Jones Allen.  Anthony served God with a passion and purpose.

Anthony excelled in Academics and Athletics. Anthony graduated from Wilkes Central High School where he excelled in everything he did. His senior year he was tri-captain of the varsity basketball team and named the prestigious “Mr. Wilkes Central” award, A honor he cherished. Anthony went on to attend North Carolina State University and graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.

Anthony was an active member of Ebenezer Reformed Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC where he served faithfully as a member of the Deacon Board.

Anthony was a dedicated family man and loved his family. Anthony and Jessica met in 1994 and excited to start their new lives together, the two were married in 1998 and spent 31 beautiful years together. In that union, they had 4 beautiful children. Jordan Anthony Jones, 26, Jeremiah Lee Jones, 24 and Joshua Taylor Jones, 22 and Jarah Ruby Jones, 19. Their children meant the world to him and Anthony loved spending time with them.

Anthony enjoyed working on cars, spending time with family and friends. Being the engineer he was, he loved tinkering with anything technical, and picking people’s brains. Anthony loved watching football and grilling out on Sundays. He loved collecting shoes and had a great collection he accumulated over the years.

Anthony made friends throughout his life, and they all meant the world to him and were practically inseparable. The bond he formed with them was like his siblings. He truly loved and cherished them. Anthony had a special bond with William Rowe, affectionately known as “Coach Rowe”. Anthony loved Coach like a father and spoke with him often. Coach was there for Anthony until the end of his beautiful life.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Amos and Quilla Mae Jones, and his maternal grandparents Raymond and Ruby Mae Carlton. Anthony is survived by his loving wife and children of Kernersville, NC, his parents Eric and Betty Allen of North Wilkesboro, NC, Ronald and Carla Jones of White Plains, MD, his loving Aunt, Mary Jo Carlton of Wilkesboro, NC, his sister Prenetta and brother-in-law Broderick Tugman of Charlotte, NC, his brother Donnie Jones of Winston Salem, NC and his loving Aunt, Mary Jo Carlton of Wilkesboro.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at 1 pm, at Reins- Sturdivant Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 3 pm in the Chapel at Reins-Sturdivant with Pastor Sutton, Pastor Thompson, Pastor Sinclair and Minister Jeremiah Jones officiating.
