Mrs. Annie Ruth Lovette Goforth, age 97 of Ferguson, widow of Kenneth Raynard Goforth, died Friday, July 9, 2021 at Wilkes Assisted Living.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Lewis Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Dwayne Andrews officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:45 PM until 1:45 PM prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Goforth was born April 16, 1924 in Wilkes County to Fidel and Kiter Phillips Lovette. She was a member of Lewis Fork Baptist Church where she loved to teach. She was a great wife and mother. She loved to write poems and had two professionally published.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one great – grandchild Andrew Goforth; and one brother, Zollie Lovette.
She is survived by three sons, Milton Goforth and wife Frances of Ferguson, Shelton Goforth and wife Elaine of Winston-Salem, and Gary Goforth and wife Kathy of Ferguson; seven grandchildren, Elaine Church and husband Wayne, Kenneth Goforth and wife Rita, Kristie Goforth, Susie Labrecque and husband Trey, Misty Cecile and husband Jason, Nicole Blevins, and Heather Welch and husband Adam; ten great – grandchildren, Mindy Woodie and husband Joshua, Nathan Church, Aidan Cecile and wife Alexis, Lorna Cecile, Corbin Cecile, Roland Cecile, Delylah Heninger, Bryson Heninger, Michael Wilcox, and Jayda Jarvis; thirteen great-great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Woodie, Austin Woodie, Story Church, Emily Labrecque, Ethan Labrecque, Alanna Labrecque, Noah Labrecque, Maddie Cecile, Luci Cecile, Sabrina Alisha Goforth, Avea Wilcox, and Mikayla Wilcox; and one sister, Ruby Keys of North Wilkesboro.
