Mrs. Annie Ruth Billings Dyer, age 80 of Millers Creek, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family Friday, January 10, 2025.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Welcome Home Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie McGuire officiating. Burial will follow at Welcome Home Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:45 AM until 12:45 PM prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Dyer was born on February 22, 1944, in Wilkes County to Dallas James & Lessie Cothren Billings. She was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters; Ruby Billings, Mozelle Woodruff and Emmie Billings, two brothers; Marvin and Olin Billings, foster parents, Olin & Juanita Gentry.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Edward Grant Dyer, two daughters; Lesa Bilodeau (Kevin), of North Wilkesboro and Sandy Bell (Ray Madden) of Millers Creek, one son; Michael Dyer of Millers Creek, one sister; Bonnie Bauguess of Roaring River, six grandchildren; Michael Dyer, Joshua Bilodeau, Katie Royal, Dylan Bilodeau, Noah Bilodeau and Charlotte Dyer; four great-grandchildren, Jediah Royal, Hagen Royal, Penelope Bilodeau and Benjamin Bilodeau; Several special nieces and nephews; foster siblings, Jimmy Gentry, Bobby Gentry and Tammy Bright.
