Alvin Robert Nichols

Mr. Alvin Robert Nichols, age 81 of North Wilkesboro passed away Monday, February 8, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist-Wilkes Medical Center. 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Shady Grove Baptist Church in the Windy Gap Community with Rev. Benny Romans, Rev. William Souther and Rev. Rodney Blake officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 PM prior to the service at the church. 

Mr. Nichols was born September 14, 1939 in Wilkes County to Alfred Newton and Vesta Roberts Nichols.  He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.  He retired from Gardner Glass.  Alvin loved playing horseshoes, sitting on his porch and the outdoors.  He loved his church and cherished his family and his boxer; Smokey. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson; Zachary Hubbard, three sisters; Dimple Huie, Ollie Coleman and Veora Souther and three brothers; Hal Nichols, Jack Nichols and Stuart Nichols. 

He is survived by his wife of more than 50 years; Vergie Jarvis Nichols of the home, two daughters; Karen N. Hubbard and husband John, Heather N. Mason and husband Terry, a son; Anthony Robert Nichols and wife Pam all of North Wilkesboro, four grandchildren; Devin Nacahols and wife Crystal, Dakota Parsons, Trent Mason, Aubrey Mason and four great grandchildren; Holden Nacahols, DJ Nacahols, Peyton Nacahols and Caylee Parsons.
