Mr. Alvin Ray Caudill, age 83 of Hays, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. 

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Sammy Taylor and Rev. James Pardue officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. 

Alvin was born July 1, 1943, in Wilkes County to Dexter and Rena Pearl Wood Caudill. He founded Alvin’s Alignment in 1976 and continued as owner and operator until 1988. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Mary Ann Brooks Caudill, daughter; Alicia Caudill, stepdaughter; Tonya Byrd, granddaughter; Jessica Alexander, and a brother; Jerry D. Caudill. 

He is survived by his son; Trevor Caudill of North Wilkesboro, sister Evelyn Sidden and husband Jerry of North Wilkesboro, and several grandchildren.
