Alice Roten Whitley

Mrs. Alice Roten Whitley, age 87 of Wilkesboro passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Forsyth Medical Center. 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, December 21, 2025, at the Reins-Sturdivant Chapel.  Burial will be in Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:00 PM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. 

Alice was born May 2, 1938, in Wilkes County to Joe and Bessie Eller Roten.  Alice loved to bake cakes and was always sharing her flowers with everyone, she really had a green thumb.  She enjoyed her evenings on the porch with her dog Lulu,.  Lulu was a great joy for her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Paul George Whitley, two sons; Steve Eller, Thomas Ray Eller Whitley, two sisters; Ellen Roten Turner, Josephine Roten Wagoner and seven brothers; Willard, Henry, Elmner, AD, Coug, Emery and Barney Roten. 

She is survived by two daughters; Kathy Whitley Foster and husband Clay, Patty Eller Joines and husband Ronnie, three sons; Paul Gene Whitley, Eddie Dwayne Whitley, Barry Wayne Whitley, eleven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren.
