A.C. Burgess

Mr. Albert “A.C.” Burgess, age 77 of Wilkesboro passed away Monday, November 15, 2021 at The Citadel of Mooresville. 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Congo Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Luke Pyles and Rev. Jerry Blevins officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the service at the church. 

Mr. Burgess was born February 1, 1944 in Wilkes County to Ivory Conard and Donnie V. Church Burgess.  He was a member of Congo Pentecostal Holiness Church.  A.C. was a bread man for Sunbeam Bread Company for 21 years.  He was the previous Pastor at Congo Pentecostal Holiness Church and was an Evangelist for over 30 years. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers; Ivory Burgess, Tommy Burgess, Lloyd Burgess and Eugene Burgess.  

He is survived by his wife; Edith Royal Burgess of the home, a daughter; Lois Norket of San Antonio, TX, two grandchildren; Amanda Norket and Wesley Norket, two great grandchildren; Summer Richardson, Liam Key, three sisters; Glenda Hargett and husband Jerry of Purlear, Gloria Jean Medlin and husband Paul of Kinley, Cynthia Jones of Moravian Falls and a brother; Buddy Burgess and wife Jan of Wilkesboro and several nieces and nephews.
