Obituary for Elizabeth Neel Lowe

Mrs. Elizabeth Neel Lowe, age 97 of Wilkesboro passed away Sunday, May 5, 2019 at the Villages of Wilkes.

Graveside service were held 2:00 PM Friday, May 10, 2019 at Mountlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Chris Hefner officiating.

Mrs. Lowe was born March 6, 1922 in North Holston, VA to James Wilborn and Pheroby Brown Neel. She was a bookkeeper at Lowe Fur and Herb and was a member of Wilkesboro Baptist Church and very active in the community where she supported the Wilkes Art Gallery, was a den mother for the Cub Scouts and supported the Boy Scouts and she sponsored the Girl Scout troop at Walnut Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter; Elizabeth Neel Lowe.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur Clyde Lowe, Sr., of the home, one daughter; Rebecca Alice Whicker and husband James H. Whicker of Knoxville, TN, one son; Arthur Lowe Jr., and wife Rebecca of Moravian Falls, four grandchildren; Laura Jones, Myra Lowe, Ashley Harkrider, Carmen Gregory, twelve great grandchildren; Layne Broyhill, Ella Jones, Perrin Jones, Hampton Jones, Thorne Gregory, III, Reese Gregory, James Gregory, Elizabeth Gregory, Henry Gregory, Marshall Harkrider, Travis Harkrider, Avery Elizabeth Harkrider.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Liberty Masonic Lodge #45 at Wilkesboro, PO Box 154, Wilkesboro, NC 28697.
