Mr. Thomas “Burette” Souther, age 95 of Moravian Falls passed away Monday, November 25, 2019 at Westwood Hills Nursing and Rehab.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Jonah Parker and Rev. Chad Hendren officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 PM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Mr. Souther was born March 30, 1924 in Wilkes County to Lee and Goldie Moore Souther. He was a member of Bible Way Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Choir Director, Treasurer and Church Clerk and was faithful as long as his health permitted. He also loved to rabbit hunt.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife; Mildred Thelma Tedder Souther, two sisters; Lela Jones and Rachel Robinson and four brothers: Narvey, Paris, Freddie and Eugene Souther.
He is survived by a son; Joseph Arnold Souther of Moravian Falls, two sisters; Julia Steelman of Wilkesboro and Stella Marshall of Winston-Salem and one brother; Dewitt Souther of North Wilkesboro.
