FERNE W. CAUDILL

Ferne W. Caudill, of Wilkesboro joined the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home staff in 1984. Ferne is the widow of the late H. D. Caudill, Jr., the president of Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home from 1960 until his death April 9, 1994. Ferne and H. D. have one child, Kathy Caudill Myers and two grandchildren. Ferne attended Union Grove High School in Iredell County. She graduated from Appalachian State Teacher’s College and did her graduate work at the Women’s College at North Carolina University in Greensboro. Ferne taught in the Wilkes County School System until her retirement. She is a member of Wilkesboro United Methodist Church serving on various boards of the church. She is president of Reins-Sturdivant, Inc.

WAYNE E. MYERS

Wayne E. Myers, of Wilkesboro joined Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home staff on May 15, 1976. Wayne is married to Kathy Caudill Myers and they have two children, Carrie Myers and John F. Myers. Wayne graduated from high school in Winston Salem in 1972. He graduated from Appalachian State University in 1976. Wayne attended Gupton Jones School of Mortuary Science in Atlanta, GA graduating in 1979 receiving his funeral service license. He joined his father in law, the late H. D. Caudill, Jr. in business at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. Wayne now serves as manager and vice president of the company. He is a member of and served as president of the North Carolina Funeral Directors Association from 1992 – 1993. He is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association and has served on the policy board of the National Funeral Directors Association. Wayne is very active in community affairs. He served on the North Wilkesboro Planning Board, United Way, Chairman of Wilkes County Chamber of Commerce in 2001and the Yadkin River Greenway. Wayne is a member of the First United Methodist Church of North Wilkesboro, Oakwoods Country Club, and the North Wilkesboro Elks Lodge.

CLYDE D. CARPENTER, JR.

Clyde D. Carpenter, Jr. (Don), of Belle Brook Ave., North Wilkesboro joined Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home staff on May 1, 1980. He is married to Donna Brown Carpenter and they have two children, Megan Leigh Carpenter and Marcy Ann Carpenter. Don graduated North Wilkes High School in 1978. He attended Wilkes Community College from 1979 until 1980. He attended Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta, GA graduated in 1981. Don has been with Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home for his entire funeral service career. In November of 2001, Don was made vice president/secretary of Reins-Sturdivant, Inc. He is a deacon, Sunday school director, and choir member of Baptist Home Baptist Church. Don is also a member of the North Carolina Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association.

J. PAUL CANTER

J. Paul Canter, of Cedar Street, North Wilkesboro joined the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home staff on June 1, 1963. Paul is married to Celia L. Canter. He graduated from Wilkes Central High School in 1961 and attended Lenoir Rhyne College for 2 years. Paul received his funeral director’s license in 1986. He is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association and the North Carolina Funeral Directors Association.

PHIL MILLER

Phil Miller, of Haymeadow Road, Hays joined Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home staff on May 24, 1976. Phil is married to Judy Minton Miller and has two children, Elizabeth Miller Brown and Timothy R. Miller and one grandchild. Phil graduated from West Wilkes High School in 1967. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Phil graduated Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta, GA in 1973. He is a member of Bethel Baptist Church, North Wilkesboro Masonic Lodge #407,Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 1142, and the North Carolina Funeral Directors Association. Phil is on the Board of Directors and treasurer for the Summer Program for Exceptional Children in Wilkes County. He began his funeral service career in 1970 and has been a funeral service licensee for 30 years.

ROBIN A. ENGLAND

Robin A. England, of Mountain Valley Road, of Millers Creek joined Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home staff on July 12, 1978. Robin has one son, Luke Anthony England. Robin graduated West Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte in 1972. He attended John A. Gupton Mortuary College in Nashville, TN graduating in 1978. Robin is a member of Cricket Baptist Church and the North Carolina Funeral Directors Association. Robin began his funeral service career at Roesch Pathon Funeral Home in Nashville, TN. For the last 23½ years he has been employed at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. Robin is an avid cyclist and enjoys playing the banjo.

SHARON DIANE POPLIN

Sharon Diane Poplin, of Flint Hill Road, North Wilkesboro joined Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home staff on March 16, 1987. She graduated from Starmount High School in Boonville in 1976. She graduated from Wilkes Community College in 1978 with an Associated Degree in Secretarial Technology. Sharon is a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church in Jonesville.

WANDA MCGRADY TEAGUE

Wanda McGrady Teague, of Cane Creek Ch. Rd., McGrady joined Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home staff in October of 1993. Wanda has one son, A. Scott Teague and one grandchild. She graduated Wilkes Central High School in 1968. She graduated from Wilkes Community College with a degree in business data processing in 1977 and magna cum laude from Gardner Webb University with a degree in Information Systems in 1987. Wanda is a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, where she also teaches bible school and sings in the choir.

COLE WILLIAMS YOUNGER

Cole Williams Younger, of Statesville Road, North Wilkesboro joined Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home staff on December 14, 1977. Cole is married to Zee Prevette Younger and they have one child, Travis Cole Younger. Cole graduated from North Iredell High School in 1974. He attended Wilkes Community College. Cole attended Forsyth Tech and Fayetteville Tech graduating in 1995 with his funeral director’s license. Cole is a member of Taylor Springs Baptist Church and the North Carolina Funeral Directors Association.

EDWIN RAY THARPE, JR.

Edwin Ray Tharpe, Jr., of North Quail Circle, Wilkesboro joined Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home staff in September of 1987. Eddie is married to Jody McDaniel Tharpe and they have one daughter, Brittney Nicole Tharpe. Eddie graduated from East Wilkes High School in 1983. He attended Forsyth Tech and Fayetteville Tech graduating in 1995 with his funeral director’s license. Eddie is a member of Oakwoods Baptist Church and the North Carolina Funeral Directors Association.

EDWIN J. WADDELL

Edwin J. Waddell, of Bisco Lane, Roaring River joined Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home staff in April of 1997. E. J. is married to Judy C. Waddell and they have three children and three grandchildren. E. J. graduated from East Wilkes High School in 1965. He is a deacon at White Plains Baptist Church, bus fund treasurer and youth committee chairman. E. J. is also a member of the Board of Directors of Shepherds Cross Roads Fire Department.

RICHARD D. HINCHER

Richard D. Hincher, of Airport Road, Hays joined the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home staff on January 7, 1999. Richard is married to Kimberly G. Hincher and they have one child, Abigail Jordan Hincher. He graduated from North Wilkes High School in 1982 and from Wilkes Community College with a degree in Applied Science in 1984. Richard is a member of Arbor Grove United Methodist Church and a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Richard is currently attending Fayetteville Technical Community College in the funeral service program.

SAMMY LEE INGRAM, SR.

Sammy Lee Ingram, Sr. of Cedar Lane, North Wilkesboro joined the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home staff on July 27, 2000. Sam has four children, Cindy, Katey, Amber Ingram and Sammy L. Ingram, II. Sam graduated from Highbriten High School in 1982. Sam has worked in the funeral business for 19 years. He is currently attending Fayetteville Technical Community College in the Funeral service program. Sam is a member of Zack Fork Baptist Church and a retired Lenoir Fireman and Valmead Fire Department.

TIMMY ALTON STANLEY

Timmy Alton Stanley, of Jimmy Bryant Road, North Wilkesboro joined the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home staff on June 18, 1986. Tim is married to Lisa D. Stanley and they have one son, Christopher Alton Stanley. Tim attended North Wilkes High School and later graduated through New Port Pacific High in 1990. Tim is a member of Little Mountain Baptist Church. Tim has been in cemetery maintenance for 14 years and sets monuments for our monument company.

BOBBY DEAN STANLEY

Bobby Dean Stanley, of Jimmy Bryant Road, North Wilkesboro joined the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home staff on August 28, 1987. Bobby is married to Dorothy K. Stanley and they have one daughter, Brandi Kala Stanley. Bobby attended North Wilkes High School and later graduated through New Port Pacific High in 1988. He is a member of Little Mountain Baptist Church. Bobby has been in cemetery maintenance for 14 years and sets monuments for our monument company.

ROGER DALE CHURCH

Roger Dale Church, of Lobo Drive, Wilkesboro joined Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home staff on November 22, 1986. Dale is married to Donna Hart Church and they have two children, Stanley Dale Church and Cory William Hershley Church. Dale attended West Wilkes High School. Dale has been in cemetery maintenance for 14 years and sets monuments for our monument company.

WILLIAM CLEGG SCROGGS, III

William Clegg Scroggs, III, of Moravian Falls joined Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home staff in August of 1998. Clegg has one son, W. C. Scroggs, IV. Clegg graduated from Wilkes Central High School in 1974. He graduated from the criminal justice program at Wilkes Community College in 1980. Clegg worked for the Wilkesboro Police Department as a Detective Captain from 1980 until 1998. He is still involved in law enforcement on a part time basis. Clegg has been in cemetery maintenance for three years and sets monuments for our monument company.

DOROTHY RUTH BEAMON

Dorothy Ruth Beamon, of North Wilkesboro joined Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home staff in October of 1996 to help start our grief recovery program. Dot graduated from Wilkes Central High School in 1957. She attended Appalachian State University graduating in 1961 with a B. S. in Elementary Education, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill graduating in 1970. Dot is a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, the North Wilkesboro Women’s Club, the Friends of the Library, and Wilkes Art Gallery. Dot has facilitated the Grief Recovery Support Group and served the clients and families of Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home for six years.

GARY C. STONE

Gary C. Stone of Colony Drive, North Wilkesboro joined the staff of Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home in March of 1990. Gary is married to Gaynell Johnson Stone and they have one son, Matthew Gary Stone and one grandson. Gary graduated from North Wilkes High School in 1967, from Wilkes Community College in 1981, and received his Funeral Service Degree from Fayetteville Technical Community College in May 2002. Gary is a member of Union Baptist Church in Millers Creek, North Wilkesboro Masonic Lodge #407, and is a Board member of the United Way of Wilkes. He is also a member of the advisory board of Hospice of Wilkes, and a volunteer with the Wilkes Central High School Athletics program. In addition to working at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Gary also manages our cemetery, Scenic Memorial Gardens in Moravian Falls.

TERRY R. STOKES

Terry R. Stokes, of Moravian Falls joined Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home staff in 1993, when he started working at our cemetery, Scenic Memorial Gardens in Moravian Falls. Terry is married to Vernadeen S. Stokes and they have three children, Bradley S. Stokes, Brandon S. Stokes, and Tamera S. Stotler and four grandchildren. Terry graduated from Newton – Conover High School in 1958. He attended Wingate College and Lenoir Rhyne College. Terry graduated from the North Carolina Highway Patrol School at the University of North Carolina. Terry retired from the North Carolina Highway Patrol before joining our staff. Terry is a member of the Atonement Lutheran Church, Wilkes Y’s Men’s Club, Charter member of the Moravian Falls Optimist Club, and coaches AAU & YBOA basketball.

VERNADEEN S. STOKES

Vernadeen S. Stokes, of Moravian Falls joined Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home staff in March of 1994, when she started working at our cemetery, Scenic Memorial Gardens in Moravian Falls. Vernadeen is married to Terry R. Stokes and they have three children, Bradley S. Stokes, Brandon S. Stokes, and Tamera S. Stotler and four grandchildren. Vernadeen graduated from Newton Conover High School in 1962. She is an active member of Atonement Lutheran Church in Wilkesboro. She has been the president of the Women of Lutheran Church for 14 years, on the church council for four years, past president of the Wilkes Y’s Mennetts, a member of the board of directors of the Community Health Connection, volunteer training specialist with the Aid Association for Lutherans for nine years and treasurer of the A. A. L. for nine years.
