Rev. William Reece "Tommy" Faw, Sr., age 67, of Ruritan Park Road, North Wilkesboro died Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at his home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00, Friday, April 29, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with the Rev. Dean Rector and the Rev. Ken Pardue officiating. Burial with military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1142 Honor Guard will be in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery on Hwy 115. The family will receive at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 Thursday night.
Rev. Faw was born in Wilkes County, May 19, 1943, to Hoye and Alma McCarter Faw. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. Rev. Faw worked at Carolina Printing. He served in the US Air Force. Rev. Faw was a minister for 32 years having served as pastor at Eastside Baptist Church and Temple Baptist Church. He also worked at Schneider Mills for 33 years.
In addition to his parents, Rev. Faw was preceded in death by a son, Billy Faw.
Rev. Faw is survived by his wife, Wanda Brown Faw of the home; three daughters, Wanette Cleary and husband, Charles of Hays, Regina Griffith of Purlear, Sierra Richardson and husband, Travis of North Wilkesboro; two sons, Dale Faw and wife, Jenny of North Wilkesboro and Mark Faw and wife, Amy Faw of Wilkesboro; two sisters, Louise Lineberry and husband, Nick of Millers Creek and Stella Settle and husband, Eddie of North Wilkesboro; a daughter-in-law, Wendy Faw of Statesville; twelve grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.
The pallbearers will be Charles Cleary, Travis Richardson, Wesley Griffith, Joe Griffith, Joshua Sturgill, Jonathan Bryson, Donald Cash and Daniel Crase.
