Mrs. Marion Annie Ray Swaim, age 102, of North Wilkesboro, widow of Moses Aaron Swaim died Thursday, July 18, 2013 at her home.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 19, 2013, 12:00 Noon at Cranberry Baptist Church with the Rev. Victor Church and the Rev. Roger Elmore officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive at Cranberry Baptist Church from 11:00 until 12:00 prior to the service.
Mrs. Swaim was born in Wilkes County, September 4, 1910, to Rev. James Blane (J. B.) and Louella Garris Ray. She was a member of Cranberry Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Swaim was preceded in death by five brothers, John Ray, Sam Ray, Garvey Ray, Ralph Ray, Parks Ray; two sisters, Esther Church and Hazel Cleary.
Mrs. Swaim is survived by one daughter, Shelba M. Beck of North Wilkesboro; one sister, Betty Church and husband, Paul of Roaring River; one brother, Ford Ray of Jonesville; three grandchildren, Teresa Jean Minton Hillman, Millard McKinley Minton, Jr., Gregory Van Minton; seven great grandchildren, Marcus Minton, Jeana Collier, Zachary Harris, Matthew Minton, Monica Minton, Melissa M. Scheller, Chasen Hillman;
three great great grandchildren, Gavin Cahoon, Alex Scheller, Roman Scheller.
