Mr. Edward Eugene Johnson, age 76, of Wilkesboro died Friday, August 17, 2012 at Westwood Hills Nursing Center.
Funeral services will be held Sunday 2:00 PM, August 19, 2012 at Lewis Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Dwayne Andrews, Rev. David Wellborn and Rev. Sherrill Wellborn officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 until 2 at the church prior to the service.
Mr. Johnson was born May 19, 1936 in Wilkes County to Grover Cleveland and Sarah Arizona Eller Johnson. He retired after 45 years of service from Holly Farms/Tyson Industries. Mr. Johnson was a member of Lewis Fork Baptist Church. He graduated from Wilkes Central High School, was an accomplished bowler, receiving many awards and was a loving and caring husband and father.
He was preceded in death by: two sisters, Mildred Johnson Woodruff, Marjorie Johnson Garner and one brother, Perry D. Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife, Juanita Wheeling Johnson of the home; two daughters, Pamela Johnson Anderson and husband, Ricky D. of Moravian Falls, Julie Susanne Johnson of Boomer; two step-daughters, Kathy G. Sebastian, Carol G. Minton both of Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Adam Edward Anderson, Katie DeAn Anderson; step-great-grandchildren, Alexandra Byers, Ashley Byers, Worth Byers; one sister, Devola Johnson Walsh of Wilkesboro and one brother, Ernest G. Johnson of Wilkesboro.
