Grief Resources

Aftercare services are provided to the community from Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home/Scenic Memorial Gardens as needed to lend encouragement and support during a most difficult time in their lives. Mr. Edwin R. Tharpe, Jr., Aftercare Minister, is availabe to provide follow-up care to relatives and friends after the passing of a loved one.

Individuals and families who have lost loved ones may contact our office to obtain information by phone or by visiting our website for educational materials. We offer many reading materials online and in our office, which provide information and encouragement during the initial time of grieving and for afterwards when thoughts and memories of the loved one stir emotions. Efforts are made to help individuals and families, helping them to balance and focus their energies on making wise choices during one of them most stressful times in their lives. Services are provided in a caring environment in our facility.

We offer a monthly newletter to help you through your time of need. This newsletter offers encouragement, insight and help, to deal with the challenges of losing a loved one. If you are interested in receiving this newsletter, please contact our office and Mr. Tharpe will take your information.

Realizing that the holidays, after the loss of a loved one, can be one of the more stressful times in a family's live, during the month of December, we celebrate their lives with a Service of Remembrance. Our Staff and local ministers share a message of encourgement, music and fellowship with refreshments to the families.

The Compassionate Friends
